About Me

Hey! I'm Devynn Steinman, a queer artist currently based in Selinsgrove, PA, though I was born and raised in South Jersey.

Currently, I'm a first year Communications and Creative Writing major and a Marketing minor at Susquehanna University, which are degrees I hope will propel me forward in my writing and media career.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, drawing, and dancing.

Writing

I've been writing since I was a little kid, but starting actively pursuing being an author in middle and highschool!

I currently have six novels planned out (consisting of two trilogies), with one draft completed.

The first trilogy, currently untitled, explores queer relationship dynamics and mental health, highlighting how it only takes one person to make a difference in a person's life. It's challenges heteronormative ideas about all forms of love, family, and how time and trauma impacts our relationships with others, all while emphasizing queer experiences through a queer lens.

The second trilogy, who's first book is titled "The Pendulum Society," is being written by both me and a good friend of mine. This trilogy focuses on how perceptions impact and shape reality, and how multiple truths can occur at the same time. It also explores toxic relationships, autonomy, and how the people we love are not always the people that are good for us. It showcases mental illness and it's different forms, treated and untreated, and how something as simple as trust can change a relationship on a dime.

I started dancing in highschool, so it's been about 5 years now. Since I was a dance major, I spent those years training to be a professional in the industry. As a result, I am trained in:

After starting college, I joined the Susquehanna University Dance Corps, where I've continued dancing in my free time. This year, I was in 6 dance classes, and feel I've greatly improved my skills. I've recently secured a spot as the Contemporary Jazz choreographer for next year.
